Week 2 — Plan B
Today was a more interesting day. Was reviewing the wife’s Youtube channel and realized that she has quite the following on there already. Rather than reinventing the wheel, we decided we should capitalize on her viewership and start producing videos for that channel now.
So, this morning, she joined me and we recorded our first Scratch tutorial for her channel. I’m currently editing the video and will be posting on her video. We recorded everything on main editing rig which is perfect because I have that computer set up for this kind of thing. This is the video I’m editing and I’m very happy with the results so far.
Then, after work, we decided to get a little ahead of ourselves and start recording a second video. If forgot to change the settings on the OBS on my laptop and the output of the video was mkv. Perfect for somethings but does NOT work with Davinci Resolve. So, we get to record the video again in the morning. This is good because we’ll be able to record on the main editing rig, which again has the mic and everything already set up to capture the content. It’s bad because I really wanted to learn how to do a voice over in davinci resolve.
I’ve already updated the setting on the laptop so going forward we will not have that issue. Most of today was spent thinking about her channel and basically my plan B. I think working plan A and B concurrently will be good especially since my plan A is still off to a slow start. I didn’t get a chance to get to the store to pick up the materials I need so instead of just wasting a day, I was able to take advantage of my plan B work.
Additionally, I only managed to read two books today. It’s getting harder to try to read all 4 books and still manage to get out of the house on time. Maybe I just need to wake up earlier. I had a bit of a late start this morning AND I had to leave the house earlier than usual so my time was a little more constrained.
Thank you to everyone following along. I’m excited to be posting our first video for my plan B. I think this series of videos is going to be awesome and I feel like they are going to gain a little more traction than my other videos. It’s not that I’m losing focus on plan A, but I think that since set up plan A to be a video a week, and my wife is now wanting to participate, it’s just easier and perhaps more strategic to run both plans. My wife is doing the bulk of the research and development. . . I’m just finalizing the video and uploading it.
