Being Lazy and Procrastinating

It’s been a tough few days. We haven’t posted as many videos as we would have liked. I have yet to edit the STEAM project video I recorded last week and I have yet to record the new project video for this week. It’s not all a lost cause however, I did manage to finish two more books this past week which means that in 3 weeks, I’ve been able to read 3 books. This isn’t an excuse for not performing/delivering on my goals and objectives, but it’s to say that I’m not just wondering around my house not doing anything.

Also, this is my 50th post. I started this journey back in December with no expectations to actually follow through with this. I’m really proud of how far I’ve come and I can’t wait to post another 50 posts. I’ve learned a lot along the way, but I also feel like I haven’t accomplished anything significant. I’ve made many small steps, but at some point I really just have to step out of my comfort zone and just do something radical.

Let’s talk about the next steps for next week. First thing I’m going to do is I really have to wake up at 5 am. I’ve been waking up at 5:30 and having a slow start where I eventually get out of bed by 6. Starting tomorrow morning, I’ll be waking up at the first alarm and now spending 30 minutes reading through social media. Next step, I’m going to focus on reading 30 pages in the morning only. I’m a pretty slow reader and I read a page about a minute. So, by 5:30, I should be done with my reading and should be able to dedicate the next 1.5 hours to my hustles.

In that 1.5 hour span, my goal for Monday is to start and finish our Youtube channel banner/art. I want to make our channel look as professional as possible, and I think this is a critical piece missing from our channel. We haven’t gotten the traction I want with our Youtube channel, but I believe that if we double down on Scratch and really explore everything possible within the Scratch universe, we can become one of the top Scratch resources on the internet. Therefore, my goal for the week is put out at least 5 videos this week. We have 3 projects left from the book we’ve been using but those projects are a little more advanced and we’re having a harder time capturing the recordings since we don’t have the appropriate tools to really do it right.

Finally, my last goal for the week is to edit my 3rd STEAM project video and record two more project videos. I want to create a banner for the Apetech Youtube channel as well to keep that one looking as professional as possible as well. With that said, I just remembered that I have to update the channel names as well.

Okay, that’s it. I think I signed up for enough things this coming week. I think I’m going to develop some metrics to help show/illustrate my progress as the week progresses. Also, my posts can then become a little more interesting as on Sunday I can write a post planning out my week and on Saturdays I can post my accomplishments after a week of working. The Monday through Friday will just be progress posts to help keep myself accountable.

Thank you all for the support. I’m 900 views from 2k!! Let’s see if I can close out January hitting at least 2k views.
