Finished my outline yesterday to include the plan for the youtube videos. I have the files for the first video I’m going to be creating. I have the software to edit those video. I don’t have the animations ready, and I fear this is going to take the longest, so I think the easiest thing to do right now is going to be to make the step by step tutorial.

Alright, since I’ve been talking about this for the last 25 days, all I’ve managed to make is small, but incremental progress. Let’s just jump into it and I’m going to be documenting what I’m doing in this post.

First up, let’s open up the video editor I’ll be using. There are many video editing options. Last year, I built an entire hackintosh to make videos, but the computer was a bit buggy and it had no audio. This made it challenging to edit videos unless I had an monitor with speakers. I then found Davinci Resolve. The application itself is free, but I’ve never used it. Going to watch a couple of videos on how to edit with Resolve. Just need the basics for now. Let’s watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbqmZjJEsBw

As I’m going through the tutorial, I realized that I’m completely unprepared to edit this video. After 20 minutes, I finally found the footage I recorded a few months ago. The files are copying over to my server and just waiting for them to finish so I can start editing. I anticipate this going to take the better part of today. My goal is to publish everything by tomorrow, I feel like I’ll be able to do that given where I’m currently at.

Here are the clips ready to be edited. I’m also working on the lesson page. To make getting started easier, I’m just going to pick a template for a lesson plan since it’s easy, free, and removes the cognitive/creative burden of figuring this thing out. Here’s a preview of that.

I’m going to continue working on the lesson plan and on the video. I don’t want to delay publishing this post. If you want to see more of my progress, let me know and I’ll post more. I’m just not sure how much people want to see.

Thanks for reading. I’m past the 400 views mark and well on my way to 500! Thank you to everyone following along.
