Done is Better than Perfect

The moment has come to finally launch something. While I know that I’m still far away from the vision I have my service, today is the day where things start moving. The first step is to create a facebook page before making the website. This part is easy and will help me start engaging with the community. So, let’s look at how to do that since I’ve never done it before.

First thing I’m doing is researching how to create a facebook business page since the book doesn’t actually go into any details on how to do this.

That first search takes you to a site that says you can create a free business page in minutes. . . I like the sound of that. Let’s dig a little deeper.

I’ll need the following items:

  • Business name and description — Easy enough I have this information due to the activities I’ve done over the last 16 days.
  • A profile photo and cover photo — I have a profile photo, but not a cover photo. I’ll launch with what I have, but will be working on that cover photo today.
  • The action you want people to take — What do I want the users to do. For now, I’m going to refer them to this blog. But in the future, I’m going to refer them to the website and the youtube channel that I’ll be creating.

Once you have that information, the next step is to choose between creating a business/brand page, or a community/public figure page. I’m going to go with a business/brand page.

You now fill out your page name and the category for your page. Business will be Apetech University. Category will be education.\

Next you upload your profile picture. I’ll be using the image I created a while back for my twitch channel that I don’t use anymore. You then are prompted to upload the cover photo that I don’t have just yet. I’ll be using my cover photo I used for twitch. It doesn’t really apply to this service, but It’s the best I have right now. I’ll come back and update once it’s done, but I don’t want to use the excuse of not having one as a reason as to why I didn’t keep pushing this morning.

Okay, well that’s it. It asks you to learn how to use ads and there are some other resources that I’ve never used before. I’ll have to spend some time looking into what I can do with this page.

For now, while I figure things out, feel free to check it out. Keep in mind it’s the bare minimum, but I would greatly appreciate it if you give it a like.

Here it is:
