Today we learn about how to present an offer. This is basically how to create an ad for your service/product. There are three basic parts to having a solid offer that will get people’s attention.

  • The Promise: How your service will change someone’s life.
  • The Pitch: Why they should sign up NOW
  • The Price: What it costs to sign up (and how to do it)

The promise needs to be something catchy. Something that is bold and attracts attention. I’m thinking of generating a few catchy statements and putting them out on social media for people to poll on.

The pitch needs to be clear and direct. You want to illustrate a sense of urgency. Something someone needs to do now. You need to answer why they should take action right now.

The price needs to not only include the cost, but also what you get for that price. It should also include a call to action which is usually something like click on the link to learn more.

Here’s an example from a sample from the book. My goal today is to make something similar for my service that I’ll be offering.

Promise: Learn the things they don’t teach in class but you wish they did.

The Pitch: Create over 100 hands-on projects that will teach you think like an engineer and exponentially increase your critical thinking skills.

Price: Lock in our introductory monthly price of 5 dollars today!

Well that wasn’t too hard. I might be a little rough, but I’m going to post it on social media and see what feedback I get from people. Overall, I like the lesson today. I don’t have a marketing or sales background, so it’s nice to have a plain and simple guide to creating an “ad”. Can’t wait to start developing this service. Thank you to everyone reading along. Tomorrow I create my origin story. As a side bar, tomorrow is also the start of my weekend. I will not be working tomorrow, so I plan on creating instagram stories and documenting the creation of an outline for my service. I’ll need to start creating both the website, curriculum, and video content sooner rather than later in order to be ready to launch by the end of the year.

See you all tomorrow!
